Hua Wang

About the artist
Hua Wang (Urumqi, China) lives and works in Beijing and Berlin. She began her art studies at the age of 15 at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and graduated from Central Saint Martins in London in 2012. After studying in Jingdezhen, the ancient centre of ceramic production, and at the Royal College of Art in London, Hua Wang's artistic work focuses on materiality, culture and the impact of global consumerism on nature. In her art, Wang explores themes such as anthropocentrism and the clash between artificial and natural entities. She reflects on technological advances and their impact on humanity using various media, including sculpture and animation.
Wang’s sculptures appeared in many international large-scale expositions and art museum in China, such as Design Miami (CN,US), Sotheby (EN), Marco (IT), Anthology Film Archives (US), etc, and was successively invited to Dior, Gucci, and Burberry created a series of artistic works to convey the power of women with her own visual language. “Art is used to connect the ordinary with transcendent” she said.
